Laser Hair Removal

Laser hair removal is a medical procedure that uses a laser to reduce unwanted hair.   Areas commonly treated include:

face, neck, chest, bikini, legs, back, underarms, arms, buttocks, breasts/nipples, ears, and abdomen.

By reducing hair, the treatment also reduces ingrown hairs and razor bumps.

Laser hair removal is a process that requires a series of treatments to achieve the best results.  However, depending on your skin tone and hair type, you may need a different number of treatments than someone else.  For this reason, we customize laser hair removal to your needs.

Our laser hair removal is done with either an Alexandrite or Yag laser along with a cooling mechanism for comfort.  We do not use IPL technology for hair removal at Beauty Box MD.

Founder of Beauty Box MD, Dr. Shivani Bhatia has personally trained her staff of Physician Assistants, and Medical Assistants and Aestheticians. They are all licensed laser practitioners by the Georgia Composite Medical Board.

How Does Laser Hair Removal Work?

The power of laser hair removal comes from the absorption of laser energy by the pigment in the hair follicles.  This absorption creates heat that damages or destroys the hair follicle.

Athough we call it laser hair removal, it's truly laser hair reduction.  Hair is reduced 70-90% and over time essentially is so thin and sparse you don't even know it's there.
