SCITON MICROLASER PEEL™
The Microlaser peel is a procedure designed for skin rejuvenation by removing the superficial layers of the skin, while tightening the underlining deeper dermis. This remarkable peel offers our patients immediate, lasting results with minimal discomfort, and little time off. The Microlaser Peel is intended to eliminate age spots, blemishes, fine lines and minimize acne scars. Laser energy intensely stimulates new collagen growth, leaving your skin tighter, healthier and younger looking.
The microlaser peel precisely removes the very superficial layers of the skin and is individually adapted to the nature of the problem to be treated. The depth of the peel is regulated and can be as minimal as 10 microns or as deep as 50 microns. The precision in Sciton technology allows for perfect coverage and uniform ablation with minimal discomfort that was not possible with other laser systems or chemical peels.
What conditions can be treated with MicroLaserPeel?
The MicroLaserPeel is an effective treatment option for the following skin issues:
- rhytids (wrinkles)
- sun damage and freckles
- pigment and textural abnormalities
While the face and neck are the most common treatment areas for the MicroLaserPeel, the device can also be used to enhance the appearance of the skin on the chest, shoulders, and hands.
Dramatic Results with Deep Fractional Resurfacing
The ProFractional™ laser treatment dramatically improves the skin’s appearance, including wrinkles post-traumatic scars, acne scars, aging, and sun-damaged skin. This technology uses the Erbium laser’s energy to make thousands of microscopic fractional channels into the skin while leaving the surrounding skin intact. The surrounding areas of untreated skin stimulate the body’s natural healing process. This results in a plumping up and smoothing out of wrinkles, lines, scars, and other imperfections, in just one treatment.
What is the ProFractional™ Laser?
ProFractional™ has the unique ability to penetrate very deep into the skin, but with very little heat damage to surrounding tissue. This combination allows for efficacious collagen remodeling (due to the deep treatments) and a high safety margin (due to low thermal damage) on all skin types. This combination makes ProFractional™ one of the safest, yet most effective resurfacing lasers available today.
Am I A Good Candidate For ProFractional™?
Candidates for ProFractional™ should want to reduce the appearance of skin impurities and achieve a younger, healthier complexion. Most skin areas can be treated. Popular treatment areas are the face and neck, although many people also treat the chest and hands.
What is a Typical Treatment Like?
ProFractional™ by Sciton is an Erbium fractional and ablative laser that uses a tiny beam to treat thousands of pinpoint areas of your skin. The laser used in this system has a very high attraction to the water in your skin. When the laser energy is applied, it ablates (vaporizes) a layer of skin to a precisely-controlled depth, up to 1500 microns deep (more effective than other devices on the market). Because only a fraction of your skin is directly treated with the laser, the surrounding untreated tissue promotes rapid healing. This body’s wound healing response creates new collagen, which adds firmness and resilience to the skin.
It usually takes only 30 minutes to treat the whole face, and more if treating additional areas.
What Results Will I See?
As your skin heals in the days following your treatment, you may notice a general tightening effect. However, the true benefit of ProFractional™ is the collagen remodeling that occurs during the 4 to 6 months following your treatment. It may, therefore, take several months to see the maximum benefit from your treatment.
Excellent results can be obtained in just one treatment, though the number of treatments may vary from patient to patient. Some patients seek the minimal downtime advantages of very conservative treatments and choose to extend their therapy over several sessions. Others desire more rapid results and are able to tolerate longer downtime, and thus pursue a more aggressive single treatment.
Is There Any Downtime?
Immediately following the procedure you may experience mild redness and a sensation resembling sunburn. We will advise you on specific after-treatment care recommendations, including skincare products and instructions on how to use them. Your skin will be sensitive to ultra-violet light after the procedure, so you must avoid direct sun exposure until fully healed. It is recommended that you always use a sunblock of SPF 50 afterward.
There may be some swelling that will subside within several days following the treatment.
Complete healing typically occurs within a few days and most patients usually feel comfortable enough to get back to normal activities and apply makeup a few days after the treatment, or for more intensive treatment, it may be before the skin has peeled.
